| Against numerous odds of the uncertain political mood of the Middle East region and in spite of challenges that faced Palestine during the last years, Palestinian Airlines has managed to emerge as an international carrier. Friday, the 10th of January 1997, was one of the most important dates in Palestinian aviation history. Palestinian Airlines flight number (PF 141) took off on that day as the first trip carrying Palestinian pilgrims from Port Saed Airport in Egypt to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Two Fokker 50 aircraft had airlifted 325 pilgrims through seven return flights. |
